Every single notebook or desktop or server is run by an Operating System - the low-level program that communicates with the hardware equipment, including peripheral devices such as a mouse and a printer, together with any apps that are present on the system. Any program input through a command line or a Graphical User Interface (GUI) is processed by sending an Application Program Interface (API) request to the Operating System. On a web server, each app runs within the parameters defined by the OS as well - priority, physical memory, processing time, etcetera. This is valid for both standard Internet site scripts and server-side software such as a media server. In case a virtual server is set up on a physical one, there can be two different Operating Systems, referred to as guest OS and host OS, so that you will be able to set up a different software environment on the same machine.

Multiple OS in VPS Web Hosting

Our virtual private server plans come with three Linux distributions that you can pick from for the Operating System of your new web server - Debian, Ubuntu and CentOS. In addition to being cost-free, the OSs are extremely stable and risk-free and the reason to offer all 3 of them is to ensure that you'll be able to run any kind of app that you would like, because different pieces of software could have different requirements with regards to the environment they work on. Each of the three OSs is supported by a large community of web developers who have developed thousands of software packages which you can set up and use on your VPS. Based on the Operating System that you select, you will also be able to select between 3 different Control Panels to control your web hosting content. Of course, should you decide that you need a different OS, we can always re-install the server with it. As an optional upgrade, we also offer you weekly updates of the OS for maximum stability and security.

Multiple OS in Dedicated Servers Hosting

We offer three Operating Systems with our dedicated server solutions - CentOS, Ubuntu and Debian. They are all different Linux distributions and we offer them not only because they are cost-free and they will not increase the price of your new web hosting server, but also because they are very secure and stable. Each of them is supported by a large community of web developers, so you'll be given the option to choose from many hundreds of software packages that you could install on your server if the app that you would like to employ has certain requirements. The Operating System will also determine what internet hosting Control Panel you can use since the Control Panels that we offer are compatible with particular OSs only and because we want to give you as much versatility as possible, we offer a couple of OSs and multiple Control Panels. If you get a server with a given OS, we will change it upon request if it turns out that you'll need alternative one. We will also keep your OS updated on a weekly basis as a part of our additional Managed Services upgrade.
