A catch-all e-mailbox is one that collects all the email messages sent to non-existent addresses. For instance, if your email address is info@domain.com, but somebody misspells it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Just one mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and in this way you will never miss emails because the other party has an outdated email address or has made a spelling mistake. The disadvantage of creating a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving a lot of unsolicited messages, but this issue can be solved using anti-spam filtering software. It’s also essential to bear in mind that a mailbox with an activated catch-all feature cannot forward incoming emails to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Web Hosting

Creating a catch-all mailbox will be pretty easy in case you have a Linux shared web hosting service with our company. You can enable this feature through our advanced, albeit user-friendly Email Manager tool, which is an integral part of the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you will manage the hosting account itself. You’ll find all the email addresses that you’ve created listed in alphabetical order and on the right-hand side of each of them there will be a mini "Catch-all" icon, which will immediately let you know if a particular mailbox gets all the messages associated with a certain domain or not. With one click on the icon you can activate or deactivate this feature whenever you wish. If there is activated email forwarding or if some other mailbox has already been configured as a catch-all one for a certain domain name, you will receive a warning notification from our system. The latter won’t replace/disable anything automatically or without your permission.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The catch-all feature can be enabled without effort in case you have a semi-dedicated server plan with us. All the email addresses that you have set up with the domain names hosted in the account will be enumerated in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you’ll find a small-size button handily situated directly next to each of them. With only a single mouse click, you can activate or deactivate the catch-all option for any mailbox of your desire on the condition that there isn't another mailbox under the same domain with this option already activated and there isn't active email forwarding. Alternatively, you can right-click on a mailbox and enable the feature using the menu that will surface. If any of the prerequisites for creating a catch-all mailbox is not answered, our system will notify you, but will not replace or disable anything automatically.
